Day 3
Mornings with Sean in Maui *sigh*. We really enjoyed our early getaways to enjoy the waterfalls and beach :) and light breakfast!
This was our first full day without wedding festivities so we traveled to the Maui Ocean Center. I thought it was just an aquarium, but it's very cool. They only have species native to Hawaiian waters and they release them after 1 - 2 years or if they appear unhappy (and yes they have a criteria for that). So this means they play a pretty significant role in boosting juvenile and sub adult numbers in the wild as they take care of them until they get bigger!
Black Tipped Reef Shark
Did I mention we went with Grandma & Pop? They were the main attraction besides the main attraction, haha!
"One finger is a poke, two fingers is just right." Sean was very gentle with the seastar.
Taylor figured out that he could follow this rule by using the index finger from each hand....sorry seastar...you got two pokes :\
Loved these turtles!
Baby Hammerhead Shark!!!
It's against the law in Hawaii to keep cetaceans in captivity, so they have a beautiful display. Bravo.
Grandma taught Sean how to "pose" :)
The amount of interpretive learning in this place was AMAZING. We could have spent days here and it's all very child friendly.
Sat down at the great restaurant inside the park!
We left after lunch with Grandma and Pop and stopped by Lahaina on the way back to the hotel.
So many great shops!
Ryan took his brothers out that night so Grandma & Pop took me and the boys out to Leilani's.
And then back at the hotel the boys actually got into the pinterest projects I had put together for the plane ride, haha, oh well :)
